About O'Brien's Hill

O'Brien's Hill in Grenfell is the site where gold was first discovered in Grenfell in 1866. The site is easily accessible to visitors with car parking, picnic facilities and toilets. There is remnant mining machinery on the site including a horse works, stamper, air shafts and poppet head. Extensive interpretive signage explains the gold production which took place in the late 1860's.
